Best Data Enrichment Tools in 2026, Compared

Choosing among data enrichment tools for company data comes down to the field you are missing. HubSpot's built-in data enrichment is the cheapest way to fill basic firmographics if you already run HubSpot. BuiltWith and HG Insights are the specialists for technographics. Clay is the best way to combine several sources in one table, and ZoomInfo is the broadest single database if budget is not the constraint.

This guide covers company, firmographic, technographic and CRM enrichment. If you need work emails and phone numbers, read our email enrichment benchmark instead. All prices are as of October 2026 and link to the vendor's pricing page.

What does a data enrichment tool actually do?

A data enrichment tool takes a record you already have, usually a company domain, and adds fields you do not: industry, headcount, revenue, location, funding, technologies, hiring activity or corporate parent. Most tools do this three ways: one record at a time in a browser extension, in bulk from a CSV, or continuously inside your CRM.

The categories matter more than the brand. Firmographic tools fill size, industry and location. Technographic tools detect which software a company runs. Signal tools add events such as funding, news and job postings. CRM-native tools keep records current without you exporting anything.

How do the top data enrichment tools compare?

Ten tools cover almost every company-enrichment job. The table gives the short version; the sections after it explain who each one fits.

PredictLeads Hiring, news and tech signals by API Signals, technographic $0.04 per credit, $40 minimum [16] 100 calls/mo [16]

Which tool is best if you already use HubSpot?

Use HubSpot's own data enrichment first. It is the product formerly sold as Breeze Intelligence and before that Clearbit. HubSpot says it "does not consume HubSpot Credits" and is available on Starter, Professional and Enterprise tiers of its hubs and Smart CRM [1]. Continuous enrichment updates previously enriched records monthly when new data becomes available [1].

The limit is depth. HubSpot does not disclose its dataset size [1]. Intent features cost extra: monitoring one company for one custom signal for a month costs 50 HubSpot Credits, and extra credits cost $0.010 each [2]. Fill the basics here, then add a specialist for technographics or signals.

Which tool has the broadest company database?

ZoomInfo has the widest published coverage of the tools here. It claims 122M+ company records, 500M+ professional profiles and intent signals from 4,500+ topics, with data "continuously refreshed" [4]. It lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 [4].

ZoomInfo does not publish prices; its pricing page lists Professional, Copilot Advanced and Copilot Enterprise sales plans with a contact-sales button and a credit model where one exported contact uses one credit [3]. Choose it when you need one vendor for firmographics, technographics and intent across a large territory. For how it compares with a build-your-own approach, read Clay vs ZoomInfo.

Which tool lets you combine several data sources?

A waterfall of stacked data source tanks; a record card drops through each until its empty fields are filled, then lands in the CRM

Clay is the strongest option for combining sources, because each column can call a different provider. It connects to 150+ data and AI providers, charges 1 Action per enrichment plus provider-specific Data Credits, and skips Data Credits when you bring your own API keys [6][19]. It also lists HG Insights and PredictLeads as integrations, so you can run several tools in this list from one table [20].

As of October 2026, Clay's Launch plan starts at $185 a month billed monthly with 2,500 Data Credits and 15,000 Actions, and CRM auto-sync needs the Growth plan from $495 a month [6]. Our Clay pricing guide breaks down the real cost per record. Clay is the wrong pick if no one on your team will build and maintain tables.

Which tool fits a team that also does outbound?

Apollo fits teams that want enrichment and sequencing in the same seat. Its paid plans include automated CRM enrichment, waterfall enrichment and CSV, CRM and API enrichment [7]. Apollo's waterfall adds "expanded field enrichment like funding, revenue, technologies, department, and more" on top of its 30M+ company records [18].

Basic is $49 per seat per month billed annually or $65 monthly, with 2,500 credits per seat per month [7]. For a full head-to-head, see Clay vs Apollo, and for plan details, our Apollo pricing breakdown.

Which tools are best for technographic enrichment?

BuiltWith is the best value for website-detectable technology, and HG Insights is the choice for enterprise software installs and IT spend. They answer different questions, so pick by what you sell.

BuiltWith

BuiltWith says it covers 491.9 million domains, updated weekly, with more than 18 years of technology usage history [8]. Plans are Basic at $295 a month, Pro at $495 and Team at $995, with CRM integration on all plans and a one-month minimum on monthly plans [8]. It sees what runs on a website, such as analytics, ecommerce and marketing tags. It cannot see back-office software that never touches the public site.

A cheaper alternative is Wappalyzer, whose Business plan costs $450 a month with 20,000 lookups and 20,000 CRM enrichment credits, or $250 for Pro without CRM enrichment [9].

HG Insights

HG Insights covers technographics, IT spend, AI spend, contract timelines, intent and funding across 70M+ companies [11]. It prices by seats plus "intelligence credits"; a company with firmographics and hierarchy costs 0.1 credits, and a buyer-intent data point costs 3 [10]. The standard contract is two years, a one-year term costs more, and there is no pilot or free trial [10].

Pick HG Insights if you sell into enterprise IT and need to know who runs SAP or which renewal is due. Skip it if you are a small team; the contract alone rules it out.

Which tools are best for funding, hiring and news signals?

Crunchbase is the default for funding data, and PredictLeads is the low-cost API for hiring, news and technology signals.

Crunchbase Pro costs $49 a month billed annually or $99 monthly, with 2,000 export rows a month; Business starts at $199 a month billed annually and adds Salesforce and HubSpot integrations [12]. Crunchbase says it is SOC 2 Type II compliant [12]. API access sits under its custom data plans, not a self-serve price [12].

PredictLeads gives you 100 API calls a month free, then charges $0.04 per credit with a $40 monthly minimum, falling to $0.002 at high volume [16]. It claims firmographic data on 120M+ companies and job-opening data on 2.7M+ companies [17]. TheirStack is a close alternative for technographics inferred from job posts, with API plans from $49 a month for 1,500 credits [15].

Which tools are best for enrichment by API?

People Data Labs and Explorium are the two cleanest self-serve APIs for company enrichment. Both suit engineers who want to enrich records inside their own pipeline rather than in a vendor's interface.

People Data Labs offers 100 company records a month free and a Pro plan from $100 a month for 1,000 records, and says its data is ISO and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant [13]. Explorium sells prepaid packages, from Lite at $29.99 for 500 credits up to Scale at $7,499.99 for 500K, with credits valid for 12 months and no auto-renewal [14]. An enrichment costs 1 to 5 Explorium credits [14].

How should you choose a data enrichment tool?

Choose by the field you are missing, then check coverage on your own accounts. Use this order:

  1. List the five fields your routing or scoring actually uses. Ignore the rest.
  2. Export 100 accounts you know well, including ones you lost and ones that churned.
  3. Run them through two or three tools on a free tier or trial and count filled, correct fields.
  4. Check refresh cadence. A monthly or weekly refresh matters more than a big record count, because company data goes stale fast; see why B2B data decays.
  5. Check contract terms before the demo. HG Insights defaults to two years [10]; Explorium credits expire after 12 months [14]; BuiltWith monthly plans have a one-month minimum [8].

If you are choosing a primary vendor rather than one enrichment tool, our buyer's guide to B2B data providers covers coverage, compliance and contract terms in more depth.

When is a database the wrong tool for enrichment?

A database is the wrong tool when the field you need is recent, specific or written in prose. "Uses Salesforce" is a good database field. "Just posted about replacing its CRM" or "hired a new RevOps lead last week" is not, because no vendor has refreshed it yet.

Many of those answers sit on public pages: careers sites, filings, GitHub and review sites, as our list of free B2B data sources shows. Drevon reads those sources, plus LinkedIn, Reddit and Sales Navigator in your own browser session, and returns a brief where every claim links to its source. It then exports to Clay or HubSpot, so your enrichment tool fills the fixed fields and the brief carries the reason to reach out.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between data enrichment and email enrichment?

Data enrichment adds company attributes such as industry, size, tech stack and funding. Email enrichment finds and verifies contact details. Many tools do both, but specialists usually win at one.

What is the cheapest data enrichment tool?

If you already pay for HubSpot Starter, its data enrichment uses no HubSpot Credits [1]. Outside HubSpot, PredictLeads and People Data Labs both have free monthly allowances [13][16].

Which data enrichment tools integrate with Salesforce?

BuiltWith, Crunchbase Business and Clay all document Salesforce integrations [8][12][5]. Check whether the integration writes back continuously or only on export.

How often should I re-enrich CRM data?

At least monthly for active accounts. HubSpot's continuous enrichment updates records monthly, and BuiltWith updates weekly [1][8].

Is Clearbit still available?

Clearbit is now part of HubSpot as its data enrichment feature, formerly called Breeze Intelligence [1].
